In years past, it was always a tough decision to go see the city’s official fireworks show or stay at home and watch the neighborhood show. Most years, the neighborhood show won out. It peaked in 2020, when everyone was COVID-rich. That was the most spectacular fireworks show I’ve ever seen.

Things have only waned since then, with this year being the quietest and most reserved in the 25 years that I’ve lived here. I barely heard any fireworks this year before today. So, tonight, Bonnie and I rode to watch the city’s show. It was okay.
