As I always do, I overthought and overengineered these shelf brackets, but due to a mistake in my planning, when I made my first cut, I realized that they didn’t need to be so complicated. So, this is what I ended up with, and after I put the last coat of paint on them and sat back to look at my accomplishment, I thought, I could have just bought some.

Was it worth spending four hours on these? It’s hard to say. I made them from scrap metal that was lying around, taking up space, so they didn’t cost me anything, and now they’re being useful. And since I don’t really have money to spend on shelf brackets, I was able to get what I needed without spending anything. So, I guess it will come down to whether or not they can hold up a shelf.
