I’m always hot during the day, so daytime temperatures are not a reliable metric by which to gauge the seasons. It’s when I’m sweaty at night that I know summer has officially begun, and this year, tonight is the first day of summer. Before August is out, I will likely install my little window A/C unit, but for now, this fan will suffice.

The fan answered a question I had, though, so I’m glad I dragged it out tonight. I had been debating whether to install the A/C in the window behind me or the window on the other side of the room. I’ve never had my chair directly under the window before, so I wasn’t sure if it would bother me to have the A/C blowing on the back of my head. After just a few minutes, however, the fan blowing my hair in my face is driving me fucking nuts, so now I have my answer. The other window it is.
