This Is Not What I Had Envisioned
I went to the store to buy wrapping paper to wrap Bonnie’s birthday present, but I saw a bag that I knew she would like more than any of the wrapping paper. It had a roller skate on it, and I didn’t think the present would fit in the bag, but I thought it was worth taking a chance. As it turned out, I was right. It didn’t fit, so I ended up needing to wrap it.
I didn’t want to go back out and buy wrapping paper, though, so I decided to make my own. Since my garage sale signs came out so well a couple of months ago, I thought I would do something in that vein. The paint was not cooperating, though. It was hard trying to spray paint stencils on five sides of a cube, all at once. I made it work, but it needed some more embellishments.
Initially, I was going to print out pictures, cut them out as stencils, and paint them onto the paper. I don’t know what I was thinking. I don’t have a big variety of paint colors, but I do have a color printer and spray glue. So, I printed out a bunch of pictures of things Bonnie likes and glued them to the paper.

It did come out exactly as I had planned, but it has its own character, and I dig it.
