Things That Amuse Me

We’re All Out Of Ideas

Jar of beach sand

This is just unabashed, late-stage capitalism. We’ve run out of ideas, but we still got to service that debt! It might be excusable to import sand to someplace like Nebraska where beach sand might be scarce. But this jar of sand is for sale at Lowe’s, just 20 miles from the beach, where you can get as much sand as you can shovel into the trunk of your car for the cost of gas to get there and back, which with gas prices what they are may well end up being more than the $1.07 per pound that this jar of sand goes for, but I doubt it. Is this really the current state of consumerism? I mean, this is America, the country that brought the world the iPhone. We can do better than this. Can’t we? 😕
